Lessons

At MHS, students begin their lessons with groundwork.  There is a classical approach to teaching riding, with the end goal being the development of an independent seat through Centred Riding principles.  Always, safety is first and foremost a concern.  Beginning students learn how to lead a horse, tie, groom, and control the horse from the ground before mounting.  From there, students move progressively through riding skills, developing correct and balanced body movement and control.

Camps

MHS offers summer camps (weekly) and a March Break camp.  Students learn intensively about riding and horse care, and they have a lot of fun! Social events, crafts and swimming as well as healthy organically sourced home cooked meals round out the day.

Boarding

MHS accepts select boarders into this family environment.  Boarders value the quiet atmosphere, well cared for facility, indoor and outdoor arenas, indoor washroom facilities, and individualized care.  Horses have outdoor turnout as weather allows, and are brought in during poor weather.  MHS grows its own hay: a trusted and consistent high quality supply that is fed only as square bale flakes, stored inside.
